The Experience
We will explore the intertidal zone and learn about native California seaweeds, their important role in the ecosystem, use as a food source, and medicinal properties.
We will only be walking on sand and rocky intertidal zone. This experience is safe and suitable for all ages.
Following our tour, we will bring a few species of seaweed back to our 'coastal kitchen' and prepare a seaweed salad or soup to enjoy.
Note: Per licensing, foraging is allowed only on the beach from drift cast seaweed. I will provide a bag of seaweed for each individual to take home with them and you may collect seaweeds from the shoreline.
